VRCTMC has been Awarded by the Ministry of Emergencies of Ukraine for the Contribution into Chornobyl Disaster Consequences Elimination


Volyn Regional Children's Territorial Medical Center consisting of Volyn Regional Children's Clinical Hospital and Sanatorium for Children with Parents "Dachny" from the very beginning of its creation organizes rendering multiprofile skilled medical help to children who suffered from the Chornobyl disaster consequences.

Annually about 1500 children suffered as a result of the catastrophe are being treated in different departments of the children's clinical hospital. In total, during 20 years after the catastrophe over 30000 small Volyn inhabitants have improved their health.

In the Sanatorium for Children with Parents "Dachny" we annually receive 300 children from polluted areas and those having the "suffered status" from other rayons. One third of that amount make disabled children. In the sanatorium we use complex medical and social rehabilitation methods including physical therapy, massage, Montessori and occupational therapy. Patients also receive professional psychological help.

All our activities directed at organizing medical help to suffered Volyn children were appreciated by a special award - Ministry of Emergencies of Ukraine Diploma in Recognition of the Contribution into Chornobyl Disaster Consequences Elimination.

The Diploma was presented on December 27, 2007 by Mr. Y. Kobets, Head of the Volyn Regional State Administration Department of Population Protection from Chornobyl Catastrophe Consequences.
